When you swap a meal or recipe in your menu plan, we always encourage you to check the units first.
Your meal plan is designed to provide the required amount of food units for you each day, when you swap a meal, you may end up with different units.
So, when you want to swap a meal/recipe, go into the meal you want to swap out by clicking on it, and then double check the food units as below:
When you elect to swap, you will see a list of suggested swaps:
You can click on the meal/recipe you want to swap with, and scroll down. From here you can view "Nutrition" to see the units like below, so that you can compare with the food units of the meal/recipe you are replacing.
The food units will then show.
If you search for a meal or recipe like below (in the swap function), you will also need to double check the food units of the meal to get it as close as you can to the meal you are replacing.
Try to meet your food units per day, and take this into account when swapping meals/recipes in and out. If you swap and you are slightly over (no more than 0.5 units) that is ok.
You can also do your own meal. To do so, search "do your own" in the search function when swapping to find the relevant meal swap.
You will then be provided with a list of food units to meet, and you can make your own meal based off those units.
