The Total Wellbeing Diet has 3 different food unit levels, these levels dictate how much food is provided per day, and how much food you should be having each day.
You are automatically placed on a food unit level when you input your details in program set up.
- This is based off your height, weight, age, BMR and other energy factors.
- You may be put on level 1, level 2, or level 3.
You can change your food unit level on the Total Wellbeing Diet online, if needed.
The food group unit recommendations have been determined to ensure you meet your nutrition requirements. You are placed on a level that is best for you.
While it is okay to vary your food unit intake occasionally, we recommend you stick as closely to your food group unit targets/level as possible to ensure you meet your nutritional requirements.
You can find your food unit preferences in Settings > Preferences > Food Unit Preferences. Here you can view your level and change levels.
The Food Unit page will display some more information on each level, and the level you should be on.
- Firstly, take note of your recommended level, this is level for you based on your individual requirements, and this is the level you should follow for optimum results. Displayed will also be the level you have selected.
- Secondly, we have all 3 levels and the units allowed per food group on each. The calorie and kilojoule guide per level is also displayed. However we only focus on food groups on the program and it is more important to take note of your food units rather then calories or kilojoules.
Each level is lower in calorie for weight loss, and whilst differing in food allowance, will still provide enough food to meet daily requirements for all nutrient groups. It is important to meet your requirements and not eat below the level 1 requirements.
If you have increased requirements, for example breastfeeding, you may want to increase your units slightly. For further information on increased requirements please contact our team at support@totalwellbeingdiet.com
Note: if you change to a higher food unit level and still wish to lose weight, monitor how you go as level 1 is optimum for weight loss.
