If you are going away and you do not wish to freeze your account for the duration of the trip, here are some tips to sticking to the diet whilst on holiday.
- If you are going on a trip such as a road trip or camping, you can pre-prepare some ingredients from recipes that don't require much cooking, e.g. chopping vegetables, cutting/cooking meat, cooking rice and other similar foods prior to leaving. Having the ingredients pre-prepared so that you can throw them together whilst away would make it easy to adhere if you don't have a fully equipped kitchen. You can also pre-cook entire meals and take them with you ready to eat.
- Print out or save your food units per day so that when you are away you can refer to how much of each food group you should be sticking to. If you have access to the internet/the app you can alternatively log what you eat whilst on holiday, trying to pick meals and foods that would correspond with your unit allowance.
- If there is no internet access at all, you could log what you eat in a notebook and add this to the tracker for the dates that you are away when you return.
- Printing out a copy of our food groups with the unit guide can be a good way to go if you are on holiday, we also have a page where you can see portion size examples under "program" - "food groups".
