There are two types of meals you will see in your menu plan. A ‘recipe’ and a ‘meal.’
Recipes serve more than one and will be hyperlinked in your menu plan. See below where the hyperlink will be for recipes.
The recipes on your menu plan will be a combination of recipes from TWD and CSIRO recipe books. You can search for any type of recipe in the Food Search. Simply type the name of the recipe, or part of the name plus the word 'recipe'.
For example 'Smoothie Recipe'.
You can also search for these in your Food & Exercise Diary. They will have the word 'Recipe' next to them. To view the recipe, select the recipe you are after > Click the name of the recipe once added > click 'Go to Recipe'
Note that if you have dietary restrictions, e.g. are vegetarian, you can do a food search for "vegetarian recipe" to view an extensive list of vege recipes etc.
Recipe Books: If you want to access the recipes from the CSIRO book and use those, you can! We have some of the recipe books available on the program. Just go to food > recipes, and click on the recipe book you want to use to view its recipes.
Meals serve only one person, and the ingredients and preparation instructions will be available in the menu plan (i.e. you don't have to follow a link). These do not appear in the Food Search like recipes do.
If you would like to find the ingredients and preparation instructions for a meal you have seen in your menu plan, you will need to search & add the meal into your Food & Exercise Diary. To do this, type the name of the meal as seen in your menu plan OR type part of the name plus "menu plan meal".
Select the correct meal to add to your diary. Once added, click 'View Nutrition Information' > 'Show Original Meal Details and Preparation Instructions'.
