We currently offer the Total Wellbeing Diet as an online program. Both menu plans are prescriptive, energy controlled menu plans that achieve effective weight loss. The CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet and the CSIRO Low Carb Diet plans have been developed and designed by CSIRO, the unique use of food units is their mark. Both menu plans are prescriptive, energy controlled menu plans that achieve effective weight loss However, it is important to identify that the food groupings and quantity recommendations are different between the 2 dietary patterns.
The food units and menu plans of each program are different, meaning that these plans do not interchange with each other. The Total Wellbeing Diet plan is higher in breads & cereal units and dairy units, and lower in healthy fats units; whereas the CSIRO Low Carb plan uses less breads & cereal units per day, and is higher in healthy fats to achieve the nutrient balance.
The CSIRO Low Carb recipes are available to add to your Total Wellbeing Diet online diary so that you can track your food groups using the Total Wellbeing diet online program, with the ingredients and instructions available in the CSIRO Low Carb book.
CSIRO understands that not one dietary pattern will suit everyone’s preference and a personalised approach to weight management is best.
Essentially the diet’s higher protein formulation helps to control hunger and prevent muscle loss during weight loss. Balanced with a moderate amount of low GI carbohydrates, the diet not only keeps you feeling fuller for longer but also helps with long-term weight control.
